Join us August 6th  at 12 PM as John Wakefield, the Senior Vice President of ECOASSET SOLUTIONS, along with the panel of guest speakers mentioned below will give an overview of Energy Finance Programs as a solution for local governments to achieve their energy conservation and greenhouse gas reduction goals while stimulating their local economies. This webinar will also delve into the benefits to property owners who choose to enter into a loan and contractual assessment agreement to finance a renewable energy system, energy efficiency retrofits and/or wind resistance improvements to their property.

PACE Webinar: About our Speakers

 

This month EcoAsset Solutions will be featuring three guest speakers with extensive knowledge about PACE in Florida.

John Wakefield's professional experience spans over 12 years of service in corporate and investment banking, wealth and investment management and strategic corporate development.   As a result of Mr. Wakefield's management of EcoAsset Solution's, he and his team are involved in the technical analysis, strategic planning and stakeholder engagement related to the sustainability action plans and initiatives of local governments. In 2009, this involvement allowed Mr. Wakefield to identify energy finance programs as a solution for local governments to lessen their community's GHG emissions and increase energy efficiencies and small scale renewable power installations. Moreover, local governments indicated the need for a turnkey energy finance program solution and management approach. Consequently, Mr. Wakefield and his team to educate local Florida governments on how to establish, finance and manage an energy finance program.

Pierce Jones directs the Program for Resource Efficient Communities (PREC) at the University of Florida, which promotes "best design, construction and management practices" in housing sector with an emphasis on measurable reductions in energy and water consumption. Since 1996 he has coordinated development and delivery of housing education programs when his group launched Build Green & Profit, a 14-hour, highly interactive, continuing education program targeting licensed Florida building contractors. Since 1999 he has published Energy Efficient Building Construction in Florida, a 226-page manual designated as a required reference text by Florida's Construction Industry Licensing Board. Pierce directs applied research projects and training program development funded by DOE, EPA, Utilities, local governments and others. He actively collaborates with Audubon International, USGBC, ENERGY STARĀ®, and Building America. He is a founding member of the Florida Green Building Coalition.

Susan Churuti is the Co-Chair of the State and Local Government Practice Group. She worked extensively with the Pinellas County Attorney's Office, serving as the County Attorney for over twenty years. Mrs. Churuti has broad experience representing the county and its constitutional officers, which are the Clerk of the Circuit Court, Property Appraiser, Sheriff, Supervisor of Elections, and Tax Collector. She has served as the President of the Florida Association of County Attorneys, and the President of the Clearwater Bar Association. She served as an adjunct professor at Stetson University College of Law for eleven semesters, and has been board certified in City, County and Local Government Law since 1996.
